in Bunker Hill, presented a session titled, “Creating
Deeper Thinkers wtih Primary Sources” at the Illinois
Reading Council Conference in Springfield, Illinois in March
2010. The presentation shares strategies and tools in communicating
ideas and understandings and improving student questioning.

Cheryl
Best presented at the IL Reading Conference in 2009. A 2nd
grade teacher at the time, she presented a session titled,
“A Primary Look at Primary Sources” at the Illinois
Reading Council Conference in Springfield, Illinois on March
20, 2009. Her presentation focused on the use of primary
sources to engage students in using basic analysis skills
to better understand a time and event in history being studied
