School Specialist Southern Illinois and St. Louis Area Southern Illinois University Edwardsville serves the most populous region in southern Illinois. The campus is centrally located in the eastern metropolitan St. Louis area. Interstate highways make training sites and recreational activities around the St. Louis area convenient to our students.
St. Louis, located twenty minutes southwest of the campus, is one of the oldest and richest cultural centers in the country, renowned for its symphony, opera, art museums, and conservatories for the arts. It is a center for educational, medical, botanical, biochemical, and business research. SIUE is one of the four comprehensive universities among more than twenty institutions of higher education in the metropolitan area.
Because the University is part of a
large metropolitan area, we are able to provide excellent training in diverse facilities such as behavioral medicine clinics, offices of human resources, psychiatric hospitals, student counseling centers, and a range of outpatient psychotherapy clinics.
