SIUE Programs in Litchfield

SIUE is bringing new graduate programs to Litchfield beginning in June.  Apply now to ensure enrollment in the coursework.

Curriculum and Instruction
The Curriculum and Instruction Department will be offering a Master’s Degree appropriate for early childhood, elementary and secondary teachers beginning in June in Litchfield.  Coursework will focus, among other areas, on curriculum development, content area literacy, differentiated instruction and integration of technology.

Educational Administration
The Educational Leadership Department is also planning to offer the Educational Administration Master’s Degree (12 courses) in Litchfield beginning in June.  This degree will result in a Type 75 (principal) Certificate for graduates.  For those individuals who already have a Master’s Degree, the Educational Administration Program will also offer a Certificate Only option (9 courses) or a Specialist Degree in general administration (11 courses) at Litchfield.  Both of these options lead to a Type 75 Certificate.

Coursework Schedule
Courses will start this summer in a compact format during the day in June and early July. During the fall and spring semesters, classes will be held on Tuesday evenings.  Most courses will be offered in an 8-week format and several courses may be offered online.  Distance learning is being explored as a delivery model for some classes.  Both programs are designed for participants to complete a Master’s Degree within a two-year period or six semesters (2 courses per semester).

Cost
Off-campus rates apply.  Current tuition is $729.75 and fees for the summer semester are scheduled to be $168.75 for a total of $898.50 for a 3-semster hour class.  Tuition waivers will be accepted. (Waivers are issued to cooperating teachers who host student teachers.)

Enroll Now as SPACE IS LIMITED and classes are expected to fill!
To apply, contact Angie White at (618) 650-2433 or by email at  angewhi@siue.edu.  Tuition waivers will be accepted for this coursework.  Also, tuition and fees will be charged at the reduced off-campus rate.
