School Health Education

computerThe School Health Education option provides for challenging careers helping school age children and young people develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to live healthfully and safely. School health educators work as members of coordinated school health programs which also include the school nurse, physician, counselors, teachers, and other service personnel.

The School Health Education option leads to the Illinois Initial Secondary Teaching Certificate that applies to the teaching of health in public schools, grades 6 through 12.
