Exercise Science Student Research
Students in Exercise Science may optionally participate in research associated with faculty members for class credit (KIN 499 Individual Research) as an elective. Previous research in the Exercise Science program has led to students presenting scientific work as a poster at a state or national scientific meeting and scientific publications. Participation in research can make a student more attractive to graduate schools or employers.

The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) Program
at SIUE. The URCA encourages, supports, and enables students to participate in research and creative activities at the undergraduate level. Students can participate in the URCA program in two ways: as Associates and Assistants.
commit to work on faculty-led projects for one semester. This opportunity is a great way for students to get familiar with the work that faculty do in the lab and field.
design their own projects, under the guidance of a faculty mentor, and spend a year seeing it through from inception to completion. These positions are for juniors and seniors who are ready to tackle an issue in their field more independently. As part of the URCA program students can enroll in 3 hours of KIN 499 Individual Research for elective credit.
