Undergraduate Advisement

Upon admission to the Department of Applied Health, students will be advised by a professional advisor within the department. Prior to declaring their majors in Public Health, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Nutrition, or Exercise Science, students are advised in General Advising.

Students who have already declared their major or minor within the Department of Applied Health will be able to conveniently schedule appointments on-line through Starfish ( http://www.siue.edu/its/starfish/index.shtml ). Starfish appointment scheduling allows students to check advisor availability anytime and provides an email reminder prior to the appointment.

Students who will be declaring a major within the Department of Applied Health within one semester may call 618-650-2614(if students last name begins with A-M) or 618-650-3940(if students last name begins with N-Z) to schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor.

All students must meet with the advisor prior to enrollment in classes through the CougarNet self-registration system.

Advising appointments for Spring Web Registration typically begin the first week of September and continue through October. Fall and Summer Web Registration advising appointments begin in early January and continue through the spring semester. Be sure to schedule an advising appointment prior to your Web Registration date for your classification. Schedule your appointment early to avoid delays.
