Yongmei Chang
Yongmei Chang is an Associate Professor in the College of Educational Technology, Northwest Normal University (NWNU), China. She has taught Teaching Based on Information Technology, the Theory of Learning and Teaching, and Educational Measurement and Evaluation. Her research interests include performance technology and instructional design. During her semester at SIUE, she looks forward to learning more about educational technology, instructional design, and teachers’ training with online courses in the United States.

Yi Gong
Yi Gong is a Lecturer in the College of Foreign Languages and Literature, Northwest Normal University (NWNU), China. She has taught English to undergraduate English-majors and non-English majors, and post-graduate translation majors for 11 years. Her major research areas are linguistics, TESL, and interpretation. The major goals of her visit are to acquire in-depth knowledge of modern pedagogical concepts and practices of higher education in the United States through careful class observation (especially in TESL and Linguistics), to improve her teaching skills and approaches in TESL which will ultimately benefit her current and future students, and to share her culture with the faculty and students at SIUE.

Ke Hu 
Ke Hu is a Lecturer in the College of Geography and Environmental Science at Northwest Normal University (NWNU), China. He has taught such courses as Land Use Planning, Introduction to Sustainable Development, and Urban Economics. His research interests include the Land Use / Land Cover Change (LUCC) in the arid region of China, and the Regional Sustainable Development Assessment. The major objectives of his visit are to improve his lecturing skills, to learn the trends of professional development, to improve his English academic writing ability, and to learn more about American college education.

Weibao Kong
Weibao Kong is an Associate Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Northwest Normal University (NWNU), China. He has taught Microbiology, Enzyme Engineering and Bio/Drug-Separation Engineering. His major research interests are in oil biological resources technology, and the comprehensive utilization technology of agricultural wastes. The major objectives of his visit to SIUE are to acquire in-depth knowledge of modern pedagogical concepts and practices of Higher Education in the United States, to improve his engineering professional teaching skills, to gain experience in Higher Education and Teaching Management, to enhance his English speaking and listening skills, and to understand the humanism and ecological environment of the United States.

Yongming Liu
Yongming Liu is an Associate Professor in the College of Social Department and Public Administration at Northwest Normal University, China. The major courses she has taught include Social Psychology and Social Case Work. Her research interests are social attitudes, social work institutions, and gender. The major objectives of her visit are to learn about social work, social policy, social work practices in the United States, to observe how to teach social case work, to visit local communities, to compare the social work values of the United States and China, and to communicate with faculty and students at SIUE about education and culture in China in general.

Yunping Qi
Yunping Qi is an Associate Professor in the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering at Northwest Normal University (NWNU), China. He received a PH.D in Computational Electromagnetics and Microwave Remote Sensing from Beihang University, Beijing. The major courses he has taught include Electromagnetic Field and Electromagnetic Waves, Analog Circuit, Fundamentals of Circuit Analysis, Digital Circuit and Theory of High Frequency Electronic Circuit. His current research is on antennas and scattering, extraordinary transmission phenomena and EM analytical & numerical methods. The major objectives of his visit are to study pedagogy methods and educational technologies related to his previous professional background, and to experience the differences between American and Chinese teaching styles.

Li Wang
Li Wang is an Associate Professor in the College of Computer Science and Engineering at Northwest Normal University (NWNU), China. She has taught Computer Operating System, Microcomputer Principle and Computer Teaching, and CAI. Her major research includes Database Application Technology and Manage Information System. During her visit to SIUE, she looks forward to learning the trends of professional development, obtaining more information about College Teaching Pedagogy, learning how to design a class syllabus, learning how to clearly communicate in English to American faculty and students, and establishing deep international friendships between SIUE and NWNU.

Ying Wang
Ying Wang is an Associate Professor in the College of Fine Arts at Northwest Normal University(NWNU),China. She has taught Computer Graphics and Image Design for nearly eight years. Her doctoral degree major is in Radio and Television Art. Her research interest focuses on Cultural Communication and Digital Media. The major objectives of her visit are to get first-hand knowledge that will benefit her construction of the professional courses of international education, and to learn new teaching methods from SIUE professors.
