The Department of Educational Leadership provides support courses for the School of Education as well as the University.
EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS: Courses and research in educational foundations focus on the historical, political, socioeconomic, and philosophic, nature of the relationship between schools and their social context.
EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH: At the master's level, courses in this area help students to identify research problems, become familiar with a range of research methods and strategies, develop an understanding of ethical and legal issues, and hone skills in interpreting and designing research studies.
EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY: Courses in this area focus on the major theoretical perspectives on learning, motivation and assessment, with direct implications for teaching and instruction. The Educational Psychology component includes emphasis on cognitive processes, learning strategies, and the principles of human development and behavior.
