Certificate in Classroom Technologies

Instructional Technology offers a graduate-level certificate in classroom technologies. This certificate offers both p-12 school personnel and adult educators opportunities to learn cutting-edge educational software and lesson design approaches that can be integrated into classrooms.  Through completing this certificate, students will gain knowledge and skill in successfully integrating computers and other technologies into their classroom.

The classroom technologies certificate is a combination of two professional development sequences—one in Emerging Technologies and the other in Teaching with Technology.  A student who completes this certificate, then, will actually earn three different credentials.

The courses for the professional development sequence in Emerging Technologies are as follows:

Computers in Education:  Theories & Practice (IT481)
Emerging Technologies in Education (IT550)
Leadership in Educational Technology (IT560)

The courses for the professional development sequence in Teaching with Technology are as follows:

Designing Digital Materials (IT561)
Social Media for Teachers (IT562)
Games and Simulations (IT563)

The two professional development sequences constitute the certificate.
