Admission Requirements

Requirements for admission to the graduate program in College Student Personnel Administration are a bachelor’s degree and a GPA of 3.0 or above during the last two years of undergraduate work. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA between 2.5 and 2.9 may be accepted for admissions if they demonstrate potential for success. Applicants are required to submit a completed SIUE Graduate Application along with the following: (1) all undergraduate or graduate transcripts; (2) a list of professional experiences or a resume; and (3) a written statement about two pages, double-spaced in length discussing why you have selected SIUE and a career in higher education. 

Rolling admissions is available and No Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for admission. 

Assistantship and Fellowship Deadlines

Students interested in graduate assistantships for full-time study should complete an application BEFORE March of each spring semester. 

Any students interested in the Competitive Graduate (research assistantship) or the Graduate Scholar Award should contact the Graduate Program Director for sponsorship. For more information please the Graduate Funding website

Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully complete 27 hours of content courses, a comprehensive exam, a 6-credit practicum, and a final research project.

Application Deadline

A new cohort of full-time students will start each Fall.  Part-time students may enroll Fall, Spring, or Summer semester and full-time students may as well depending on space capacity limitations (rolling admissions).  The deadline is approximately one month before the start of classes.
