OCECA, more commonly known as the Teacher Certification office, is located in Founders Hall, Room 1110. Any student seeking Illinois Teacher Certification will be advised through this office.
OCECA provides services for students majoring in education in the following areas: EARLY CHILDHOOD ELEMENTARY EDUCATION PSYCHOLOGY SECONDARY EDUCATION SPECIAL EDUCATION SPEECH PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY The School of Education has made a commitment to student success by requiring students to register for all professional education classes through this office. Students meet with an adviser each term to discuss requirements and deadlines and to tentatively plan a timeline to graduation.
Students must pay careful attention to application deadlines for field placements, observations, and student teaching.
Students will undergo a criminal background check once admitted to the program and must have a TB test prior to placement in the public schools for student teaching. Any questions regarding these should be directed to our office
