Main Clinic

Advanced Care Wing

The School of Dental Medicine formally dedicated the Advanced Care Wing of the Main Clinic in Alton in September 2006. The new facility added 24 new graduate operatories to the Main Clinic, providing a base for the majority of the AEGD program's didactic and clinical education. Clinical care offered at the Advanced Care Wing includes advanced restorative dentistry, as well as care to medically compromised patients.

The School of Dental Medicine Dental Implant Program is based in the Advanced Care Wing. During the Dental Implant Rotation, Year I residents spend approximately one day per week treating implant patients. Motivated residents have the opportunity to follow patients through treatment planning, surgery and the final restorative phases of implant dentistry. Implant related seminars are scheduled monthly.
