The Annual Fund provides funds the University needs to award scholarships, support an exceptional faculty, offer innovative programs and make technology enhancements to classrooms and laboratories.

Over the past decade, state appropriations to SIUE have declined from 46 percent of the University's operating budget to 29 percent. The difference has been borne by students who have paid an increasing share of the University's costs through higher tuition and fees. SIUE must maintain accessibility for students. Public universities that will define excellence in the future must attract private support today.

Participation in the Annual Fund represents the backbone of support for the University. We need your help to raise SIUE's alumni participation from its current rate of 5 percent to 10 percent over the next five years. That single percentage point increase each year can make all the difference in shaping how SIUE defines excellence in the years to come.

Alumni, parents, friends, faculty/staff are invited to invest in the future of SIUE. With a gift to the Annual Fund, you can take an active role in helping the University define excellence and ensure today's students will reach their full potential.

Give today and help increase the value of an SIUE degree!

Annual Fund
Annual Giving is a vital component of our development program. It allows alumni, parents, faculty/staff and friends of the University to make annual gifts while providing direct benefits to our facilities, students and faculty.

Endowments
An endowment at the SIUE Foundation preserves the principal of the investment while providing income in perpetuity for a program account as specified by the donor. An endowment may be established with gifts of $15,000 or more and may support most program accounts.

Learn more about endowments.

Trusts and Estates
Planned gifts can benefit both the donor and SIUE, providing current income to the donor and future funding for a designated project at the University.

Corporate and Foundations
The Corporate and Foundation Relations office serves as a liaison for businesses and foundations that work to create, maintain and enhance mutually beneficial relationships between themselves and SIUE.

Donor Profiles
Donor support strengthens SIUE’s commitment to meeting the needs of our region, ensuring the future viability of the programmatic, cultural, recreational and athletic resources on our campus. Our donors are motivated for many reasons, but all agree that SIUE is an excellent investment in the future of young people and our region.

Naming Opportunities
SIUE has a variety of opportunities — at many giving levels — for donor recognition that will leave a legacy at the University, which you and your family can take pride in for generations to come. Laboratories, lecture halls, professorships and scholarships are just some of the naming opportunity gifts that need your support.

Donor Recognition
The SIUE Foundation recognizes donors in two general categories: lifetime giving and annual gifts. The Chancellor’s Council recognizes cumulative giving of $10,000 or more and $1,000 or more annually, while annual donors of less than $1,000 are recognized through The Annual Roll of Donors.

Payment Options
There are many ways for you to contribute to Defining Excellence — The Campaign for SIUE. Cash, certificates of deposit, stocks and bonds, mutual funds, real estate or personal property such as art, artifacts, jewelry, machinery and equipment. Each type of gift offers different tax advantages.

Credit Card
The easiest way to make an impact is to pay online.

Check
To make a gift via check, download and complete this form. Send it with your signed check to the address provided.

Pledge
Make a pledge of your future support to SIUE. With this pledge form, you can include your initial donation now and set the dates on which you will pay the remainder of the gift.

Matching Gifts
You can double or triple the impact of your generous donation to SIUE if you work for a company that matches gifts to higher education. Many companies match the gifts of spouses, retirees and surviving spouses of retirees in addition to gifts from current employees. You can click here to search to determine whether your employer matches charitable contributions.

Real Estate, Stocks, etc.
Non-cash contributions are a bit more complicated, often requiring more documentation to meet the guidelines of the Internal Revenue Service. Because non-cash contributions require additional paperwork and review, we encourage donors to contact the SIUE Foundation at
(618) 650-2345 to speak with a University representative.
