Dr. Paula Parson

University of Texas, Brownsville, Sabal Palms Writing Project

Paula Parson is a professor of Language and Literacy in the School of Education at the University of Texas at Brownsville. She also serves as co-director of the Sabal Palms Writing Project. One of Paula's passions is to instill the love of reading in children, and the value of using culturally relevant children's literature to teach reading and writing. She firmly believes that learning can and should be fun. Her research activities with colleagues and graduate students focus on cooperative learning with preservice and in-service teachers and writing with ELL students.
