I was born and raised in Southern California! I received my BA in Liberal studies from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, my Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from California Lutheran University, and my California Life Credential for Teaching Multiple Subjects.
While working on my Masters, I had the joy of teaching preschool. What a blast those little tykes were! I also used that experience to co-author a preschool curriculum book.
I taught at a private school for 15 years. This position offered many leadership opportunities which I relished. My favorite was being the Coordinator of Testing Services. This included SAT testing and other screenings, but, the best was testing all the new students for placement. This allowed me the privilege of meeting and getting to know all new students and their families.
I came to Mesa in 1998. I have taught 2nd , 3rd, and 4th grades. Mesa is an awesome place to teach and provides teachers multiple avenues for professional growth and leadership!
Throughout my teaching career I have also done freelance proofreading and copyediting for several publishing companies.
