* Note: Price of trip is from Miami, Florida. It is the individual traveler's responsibility to purchase and make flight arrangements to Miami in time for the scheduled flight to Havana, Cuba on March 9 at 1:00 p.m. It is recommended that you arrive in Miami the night before the flight to Havana and stay at the Miami International Airport Hotel.

• Accommodations in the Hotel Plaza or similar hotel, 4 nights, with breakfast daily

• Additional meals (3 Dinners and 3 Lunches) including Welcome and Farewell Dinner, Dinner at the Hotel Jazmines, Lunch in Restaurante El Templete in Havana, Lunch in Palenque de los Cimarrones in Pinar del Rio, Lunch in Soroa
• Program of visits, meetings, photo and walking tours, and excursions accompanied by Cuban photographer Rolando Pujol or Héctor Delgado including many opportunities for direct contact and conversation with the Cuban people

Not included:  Flight or other transportation to Miami International Airport. Havana airport tax of 25 CUC payable at time of departure; tips and gratuities; meals or beverages not listed in the program as included or listed as “direct payment”; personal expenses; additional program activities determined during the course of planning or at the time of the program stay in Cuba.

Optional Tropicana Club: For those who would like to attend the performance at the Havana Tropicana Club, this option will be available. Tickets will be purchased at the hotel, when we are in Cuba and will cost $70-90 plus taxi fare.

Paperwork required to enroll

•  Travel application & visa form
•  Travel affidavit, completed and signed, as described above
•  Flight reservation form, completed and signed
•  Copy of U.S. passport valid 4-6 months beyond the date of the trip’s return.  If renewing, do not supply old passport but  inform us of the renewal.
•  Non-U.S. citizens, valid passport of that country plus U.S. residency permit or visa with re-entry permitted, If Cuban born, advise us and we will assist with any additional paperwork required

Deposit
A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is due by January 9 to reserve space on the trip.  Deposit may be by check, money order or by credit card.  An authorization form for payment by credit card is included in the trip application.  Payment should be made to SIUE Office of Educational Outreach. 

Final payment and forms of payment
Final payment is due by February 7.   Individual invoices will be forwarded to each participant and will include an authorization form for credit card payment.  Payments by money order or check are accepted if provided promptly at time invoice is issued.  

Note:  The above is a preliminary cost estimate based on estimated number of participants, program as outlined, and estimated costs of charter flight.  Charter flight companies release costs and confirm seats 4-6 weeks prior to departure.  Price usually does not vary more than $15-25 from estimate.
