| Alie completed the SIUe in-house group fitness instructor certification in spring 2009 and is also SPINNING® certified. She currently teaches Media Spin and SPINNING®. She loves being able to help others to get motivated and live an active lifestyle! Alie is currently teaching and coaching. | Sarah is currently the Graduate Assistant for Fitness here at SIUE. She is an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor, as well as a Turbokick ©, and Spinning © certified instructor. Sarah has been teaching group fitness classes for over three years now. Classes that she teaches include; Turbokick, BOSU, core and glute classes, Spin, and Yoga. Sarah completed her undergrad at UW-Whitewater with a B.S.E. in Health Human Performance and Recreation. She is currently working on her Master’s program in Exercise Physiology. Sarah loves interacting with her participants and helping them achieve their fitness goals. | ||
| Lindsay | This is Lindsay’s first year teaching Group Fitness but she isn’t new to fitness she has been personal training for several years! Lindsay is a senior pursuing a degree in Exercise Science and is ACE personal training certified. She loves Group Fitness because everyone is coming together as a group to work towards a goal. There is a lot of moral support that goes on in Group Fitness that you might not get working out on your own. In the future, Lindsay would like to obtain her masters in Exercise Physiology and eventually go on to physical therapy school to get her doctorate. | Janelle is the Graduate Assistant for Group fitness here at SIUE. She is SPINNING® certified and completed the SIUe in-house group fitness instructor certification in spring 2009. She currently teaches Bootcamp, Jersey Core and Spinning. Janelle completed her Undergrad here at SIUE with a degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Art. She is currently working on her Masters in Exercise Physiology. Janelle loves incorporating her sports background to push participants to their limit! | |
| Doug is joining the SIUe group fitness program teaching the new lifting class Cougars on Weights. Doug received his Associates degree in Exercise Science from Lewis and Clark and will be pursing his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education at SIUe. Doug is ACSM Personal Training Certified. During his time at Lewis and Clark Doug instructed Adult Bootcamps and Sports Performance classes. | Justin is Group Fitness Certified and Spinning© Certified and instructs for both types of classes. Justin earned both his Bachelor’s in Psychology & Philosophy and M.S.Ed in Kinesiology right here at SIUE and comes to us with a military (USMC), cycling, and triathlon background. He enjoys making his classes challenging and rewarding for people of all fitness levels. In the Fall, Justin will be teaching the new Duathlon class, along with Spinning and Bootcamp. | ||
| Ashley is a junior here at SIUe and is studying Psychology. Ashley is Zumba © Certified and is teaching Zumba and the new Aqua Rumba in the Fall!!! She enjoys creating new routines for Zumba ©and interacting with all the participants. Ashley has a great personality and is full of energy. She is constantly preparing new material guarantying that you will never leave a class bored! | Paula is a certified AFFA Primary Group Fitness Instructor. She is also a certified SPIN® instructor. She has been teaching at SIUe for 5 years and currently teaches Total Exhaust and SPINNING®. Paula enjoys watching participants see results from exercising and seeing them get excited about working out! | ||
| Kim has been teaching at SIUe for over 9 years. In the past she has taught Hi/Lo Cardio, Kickboxing, Body Sculpting and Step it UP. She currently teaches Step into the Weekend. Kim loves getting participants excited about the classes while also getting a great workout! | Falon is a Belly Dancing Instructor and has been teaching at SIUe for 5 years. She is currently the Director of Desert Moon Dance Academy East in Edwardsville, IL and has dance training in ballet, tap, modern and African with the Katherine Dunham technique. Falon enjoys meeting new student each semester and loves that she not only teaches movements, but also the history behind the movements! | ||
| Denise will be teaching the new class Pi-Yo. She is a second year graduate student studying Biotechnology Management. Denise certifications include AFAA Group Fitness certification, Turbo Kick Certification, PiYo certification, and a Zumba license. She loves how group fitness can motivate people to do more than they would do on their won and how it provides a way to connect socially with others while having a great time and sweating! In the future Denise wants to continue to be active in the fitness world and continue to gain experience and consistently learn new, fun things to pass on to participants! Oh, yeah...and get a rockin' job with her Master's degree! | Fallon completed the SIUe in-house group fitness instructor certification in Fall 2009. In the past she has taught Step 'n Sculpt, Step Interval and Tone ‘n Trim. She enjoys helping others to stay healthy by showing them various exercise techniques that are fun, intense, and exciting. Fallon has a Masters degree in Clinical Adult Psychology. | ||
| Melvin is joining the SIUe group fitness program as a Spin instructor. Melvin enjoys being on the bike and helping others get fit. He feels that spinning is a great low impact way to reach your fitness goals. | Aiesha has been teaching group fitness classes for 3 years. She has experience teaching hip hop classes, yoga, pilates, and cycling. Aiesha currently teaches yoga and yogalates. | ||
| Lauren completed the SIUe in-house group fitness instructor certification in Fall 2009. She currently teaches Body Sculpt and Zumba. She loves being able to help others improve their health in a fun and exciting way! She also loves teaching in general and being able to see the progress made by the class participants. Lauren is a senior majoring in Elementary Education. After graduation she plans to continue her studies by pursuing a master’s degree in education. She hopes to find a job teaching in the elementary grades while also coaching dance and volleyball, as well as teaching fitness classes. | Alli completed the SIUe in-house group fitness instructor certification in Fall 2009. She currently teaches Spin, Cardio Core, and Butts, Guts, and Thighs. She loves helping people accomplish their fitness goals! She thinks that working out makes you feel good and she’s glad she can help people with that. Alli is a junior majoring in Nursing. After graduation she plans to become a Nurse Anesthetist. | ||

Alicia is currently a junior majoring in Special Education. After graduation she plans on becoming a special education teaching while also teaching fitness on the side. | Rachel brings her energetic attitude and extensive dance background to the Group Fitness team. She is currently a nursing student at SIUe and Zumba Certified. She is currently teaching the new class Tabata Core & More and Hard Core. | ||
| Lucy is senior here at SIUe and is Zumba© Certified. She currently teaches Zumba© and Bootcamp. She enjoys creating new routines for Zumba© and the high intensity of Bootcamp. She promises you will leave all of her classes sweating! | Chelsie is new to the SIUe Group Fitness team but she is no beginner when it comes to fitness. Chelsie is studying Speech Communication and also health education. She will be instructing Bootcamp this Fall. Chelsie loves that Group Fitness can take you in many directions of physical ability, it makes her strive for competition and get a harder workout in then she would normally do on her own! | ||
| Jeremy has been teaching yoga for many years and has recently completed a 200 hour yoga instructing certification. He enjoys meeting new people and sharing his passion for yoga with others. He currently teaches Sunrise Yoga on Tuesday and Thursday mornings! |
Sarah | Sarah is a Junior here studying Speech Communication and is ready to shake it with all of you in the NEW class Just Dance. She completed the In-House Group Fitness Instructor Training this past fall. Don't let Sarah fool you, she can shake it and will bring energy and fun to every class. In the future she plans on going into public relations and event planning. | |

Emily | Emily is new to the Cougar Fitness Team; she completed the In-House Group Fitness Instructor Training and is Spinning Certified. She is currently a Junior studying Nursing and would one day like to be a Pediatric Nurse. Emily will be instruction Hard core, Bootcamp & Muscle Confusion and is ready to bring up the intensity level. |
Nicole | Nicole is new to the Spinning team. She is Spinning Certified and will push you to the max in her workouts. By day she is a nurse in the ICU and by night she is a Spin Doctor. Nicole loves getting to meet new people and help them reach their fitness goals. |

Hope | Hope is a freshman studying Nursing and completed the In-House Group Fitness Instructor Training. Hope loves the group atmosphere and making workouts fun and that is exactly what you will have in her new class Just Dance! In the future she would like to continue instructing and eventually become a nurse practitioner. She would also like to explore the possibility of becoming her future career with her love for fitness. |
Ryan | Ryan is a tried and true group fitness advocate. Ryan began attending Group Fitness classes two years ago and along with his hard work ethic, he has managed to lose 200 pounds and maintained his weight loss. Ryan is a sophomore accounting major and became Spinning Certified in the Fall 2011. His future plans include graduating from SIUe and going on to pursue Public Accounting and teaching Spinning for the rest of his life. He also aspires to become a personal trainer. Ryan loves the competitive atmosphere group fitness provides and also likes that it is always fresh, exciting and fun. |

Michelle | Michelle is new to the Cougar Fitness staff and brings to the team some stylish moves and energetic attitude. Michelle received her BA in Sociology and is currently an academic adviser and is also Zumba Certified. Michelle is very approachable and loves to meet new participants. Her future fitness plans include getting her national certification, Kickboxing and personal training certification. |
