Shawnee National Forest
Get away from the everyday hustle and bustle and take a weekend trip to southern Illinois to the Shawnee National Forest. SIUE will be departing from the student fitness center at 3pm on March 28th and make the three hour drive down south to the area in which we will be hiking and camping. We will spend the weekend down south for numerous hikes, building camp fire, and enjoying each other’s company. Students will be responsible for bringing their own gear (I.E. tent, sleeping, bag, hiking backpack). They may use their own materials or rent them from Equipment Issue in the Student Fitness Center. This trip is a great way to get away from the technological world and relax in the woods with no worries about homework or working at a job. A pre-trip meeting will be held one week prior to the departure of Garden of the Gods. We will arrive back to the university no later than 9pm on March 30th. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Bendex Stevenson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 618-650-3235. Can’t wait to see you on the trails
