Cougar Card FAQ

You will obtain your Cougar Card at the Student Service Center in Rendleman Hall Room 1309.  You will need to bring a government issued photo ID with you.

No. This is the only card you need on the SIUE Campus.

No, not for the first card, but there is a $15 fee for replacement of a lost card.

  • A $5 replacement fee is charged when an inactive or damaged card is surrendered.
  • Students, faculty and staff with name changes will be issued a new card with the new name free of charge with the surrender of an existing card.  If no card is surrendered, a $15 lost card fee will be charged.
  • Students, faculty and staff who want an ID with a new photo will be charged $5 with the surrender of an existing card.  If no card is surrendered, a $15 lost card fee will be charged.

You may view your account balances or spending history in Blackboard (login, select "Services" then the second tab "myCougarCard"), GET (click on "click here to login"), or on the GET app on your phone.

Your balance will be shown on receipts received after transactions. If you have a meal plan account and a Cougar Bucks account, the balance shown will be only for the account just accessed. Current balances may be obtained from Blackboard (login, select "Services" then the second tab "myCougarCard"), GET (click on "click here to login), or on the GET app on your phone.

If you are a student, you may not close your Cougar Bucks account except when you graduate, withdraw from the University, or enter into military service for six months or more. You will need to complete a Request for Refund form.  Due to administrative costs, balances of less than $5 will not be refunded. Balances of $5 or more will be refunded via your student account.
