The University Museum is responsible for the care and display of SIUE's extensive collection of cultural objects. These are presented throughout the campus in a series of permanent and temporary exhibitions designed to reflect the creative diversity of the people and cultures of the world. Included in the collections are objects from Pre-Columbian, Native American, South and Central American, African, Oceanic, Oriental, Greek, Roman, and Egyptian cultures, as well as works by contemporary artists.
The University Museum makes objects from the collections available for display at businesses and organizations in the community who have an ongoing relationship with SIUE. An agreement to display artwork is dependent upon security and insurance arrangements. Several prints, paintings, and sculptures are on display at TheBANK of Edwardsville, Hortica Corporate Headquarters, and Edwardsville City Hall.
