Graduates needing special accommodations should contact (618) 650‑2252 or commencement@siue.edu as early as possible to discuss accommodation options with Commencement staff.
Guests with disabilities may be seated on the ground floor in the Vadalabene Center. Commencement staff and volunteers will be available to help guests needing accommodations. To ensure adequate seating for guests with disabilities, we ask that only the guest needing the accommodation and one other person be seated in this section. Guests with disabilities are encouraged to arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
Wheelchairs will be available at Equipment Issue in the Vadalabene Center, and any guest using a wheelchair may be seated in designated areas. For the safety of all guests, aisles and walkways must be kept clear; please seek an usher to be directed to the nearest wheelchair seating area.
An interpreter will be available for the deaf or hard-of-hearing. Guests who are hard-of-hearing or deaf may contact the Commencement staff at (618) 650‑2252 or commencement@siue.edu for more information.
