The Career Development Center posts and assists students in all majors seeking an internship; however, students enrolled in any school/college other than the School of Business must go through their respective departments to gain transcript recognition or course credit for internships. These internships are generally only 1 semester or less and are commonly unpaid positions.

How to Participate in the School of Business Internship

Registration with Cougar Jobline is required. Please follow the instructions below.

  • Go to the Cougar Jobline new user registration page.
  • Complete the demographic information and Submit (Click on the Register button)
  • Upload your resume
  • Schedule appointment for resume critique and Co-op/Internship orientation
  • Find and apply for Internship positions on Cougar Jobline
  • Interview with employers
  • Once you have accepted a job offer, contact the Internship Coordinator and complete required paperwork
  • Comply with the responsibilities of the Internship Program
Participant's  Responsibilities
  • Have your employer fill out a Training Agreement at the beginning of each Internship term
  • Have your supervisor complete an Employer Evaluation at the end of each term
  • Complete and submit the Student Report, informing us about your continuation at the end of each term
  • Contact the Internship coordinator if there is a problem with the Internship
Participation Criteria
  • SIUE enrollment in the School of Business in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Students must maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 for undergraduate level, 3.0 for graduate level
  • The internship must be at least 60 hours per semester
  • International students must be at SIUE nine months before beginning an Internship
