Benefits of the Program

  • Provides highly motivated, alert, energetic students for employment
  • Facilitates recruitment and retention of employees
  • Enables company to participate in and influence the educational process
  • Broadens company visibility to students, faculty, and the community at large

How to Participate

  • Designate an Internship contact in your company
  • Decide where student(s) may be placed in your organization
  • Develop basic job descriptions for these positions, including majors, skills, and pay range
  • Register for a Cougar Jobline account online or call the Career Development Center at (618) 650-3708
Participant's Responsibilities
  • Keep Career Development Center informed about the new student hires
  • Complete a Training Agreement committing to a specified number of work hours for the student
  • Evaluate the student at the end of each semester
Participation Criteria
  • The company and the position(s) must be approved by the Career Development Center
  • Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate level, 3.0 for graduate level
  • The position must be for at least 60 work-hours per semester
