SIUE is a major public university offering a broad choice of degrees and programs ranging from career-oriented fields of study to the essential, more traditional, liberal arts.

Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, SIUE awards degrees in 43 undergraduate and 67 graduate programs in the arts and sciences, business, education, engineering and nursing. The Schools of Dental Medicine and Pharmacy award a doctoral-professional practice degree in dental medicine (DMD) and pharmacy (PharmD).

SIUE serves approximately 14,000 students from 37 states and 40 nations.

Students lead a rich social and extracurricular life belonging to numerous student organizations on campus and attending various campus-sponsored concerts, art exhibits and theatrical productions, guest lectures, sports contests, and other events each year.
