- Provides highly motivated, alert, energetic students for employment
- Facilitates recruitment and retention of employees
- Enables company to participate in and influence the educational process
- Broadens company visibility to students, faculty, and the community at large
How to Participate in Co-op
- Designate a Co-op/Internship contact in your company
- Decide where student(s) may be placed in your organization
- Develop basic job descriptions for these positions, including majors, skills, and pay range
- Register for a Cougar Jobline account online or call the Career Development Center at (618) 650-3708
Participant's Responsibilities - Keep Career Development Center informed about the new student hires
- Complete a Training Agreement committing to a specified number of work hours for the student
- Evaluate the student at the end of each semester
Participation Criteria - The company and the position(s) must be approved by the Career Development Center.
- The position(s) must be paid and in student's major field of study or career path
- Employer must be willing to retain students at least 2 semesters
- Students must maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 for undergraduate level, 3.0 for graduate level
- Students must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours
