Sustainability at SIUE
Whether through Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certifiable construction projects in its buildings or the campus bike share and recycling programs initiated by the Sustainability Advisory Group, SIUE encourages environmental preservation and stewardship, while promoting scholarship.
Welcome to SIUE — where innovation is vital and our growth is planned. We invite you to explore our Campus Growth news. See firsthand what makes SIUE a premier institution on the move, and why U.S. News & World Report has designated us an “up-and-coming school.”
Since fiscal year 2006, the University has embarked on a more-than-$300-million construction and infrastructure improvement plan, adding new state-of-the-art buildings, and enhancing and expanding existing structures. Many projects have been completed and others still are under way.
Projects either recently completed or on the horizon include:
Renovation of Science Lab Building East, our original Science Building
An extensive Dental Research Lab renovation project on the Alton campus
Completion of the Engineering Building Annex
A new Art & Design Building
Renovation of Morris University Center Union Station
A rebuild of the Stratton Quad
