Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence, tells us that the most effective leaders use a collection of distinct leadership styles – each in the right measure, at just the right time – to accomplish their goal. He acknowledges that such flexibility is tough to put into action, but it pays off in exceptional performance. The good news is that emotional intelligence, leadership styles, and how to use them to maximize results can be learned.
Simply learning about leadership styles is not enough to make you an adept, insightful leader. It takes using each style again and again, and examining the feedback from each interaction, to really develop the skillful use of leadership styles.
This 1-day workshop will introduce you to the components of emotional intelligence and how they shape distinct leadership styles. Then, you’ll jump into applying those concepts as you play through scenarios on a computer workstation running the Virtual Leader simulator. Workshop leader, Dr. Mary Sue Love, will guide you through interpreting the detailed feedback information each round of the simulation provides. Three different scenarios with escalating challenges for leadership will be covered during the day. But wait, there’s more….
Enrollment in this workshop will give you access to the vLeader simulator for 6 months. You will be able to repeat the scenarios as many times as you want. By trying out different leadership styles in the same scenario, you will be able to see the impact each has, and develop a deep understanding of when, and why, to apply each leadership style for maximum effect.
