Essential Writing Skills for Project Success is a training program that meets on four consecutive Fridays (half-days) and is designed to give you the knowledge and tools needed to communicate effectively in any circumstance (regardless of the message or the audience) with an emphasis on successfully creating common project management documents.
Instruction is supported by an exceptional textbook/writing guide filled with dynamic illustrations that will make it a favorite “go to” reference for the rest of your career.
The textbook includes access to a wealth of online resources. The Grammar and Mechanics Diagnostic Test will identify your specific usage challenges, and then offer drills and exercises designed to work on these problem areas. The Personal Language Trainer will perform a similar diagnostic for writing skills, and be one of several tools used to develop good writing techniques. Access to online resources lasts for 6 months, so you can continue to work on improving your writing skills long after the in-class instruction ends.
The program is taught by Katie Robberson, a former corporate trainer now specializing in teaching both effective business writing and project management in the SIUE School of Business.
Do you have a particularly difficult project writing challenge you want addressed in this class? Katie encourages participants to send in examples of problematic project documents before the course begins so they can be included as a part of the in-class work.

INDIVIDUAL COURSE CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
The SIUE Executive Education division of the School of Business reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course when necessary. If we cancel or postpone a course for any reason, you may choose to receive a FULL refund or apply the course fee to a subsequent offering of the same or a similar course. The latter option may be exercised within one calendar year of the original course.
If you register and pay for a course and then withdraw a one week or more before the start date of the course, a full refund of the course fee less an administrative fee of $50 will be made.
If cancellation occurs less than one week before the start date of the course, no refund of the course fee will be made; however, at the discretion of the Director of Executive Education Programs, the course fee may be applied to a subsequent offering of the same or similar course with a course fee that is at least equal to the cost of the original course. If the course fee of a subsequent course exceeds the amount paid for the original course, the difference in the course fee amounts must be paid in full prior to the start of the subsequent course. An approved substitution must occur within one calendar year of the original course.
