SIUE Welcomes Freshmen to Campus on Move-in Day

Thursday, Aug. 17 marked a significant transition for 1,200 freshmen at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as they moved into their residence halls – their new home away from home as they begin their journey in higher education. SIUE School of Business Interim Dean Tim Schoenecker, PhD, appointed Di Maggio May after she had served as the interim director since August 2016.

SIUE Alumnus Joins Town and Country Bank as Executive VP and Community Bank President

SIUE alumnus David Hopkins has joined Town and Country Bank as executive vice president and community bank president in the Metro East.

Hopkins earned a bachelor’s in business administration, specializing in economics and finance, in 1982 and a master’s of business administration in 1989, both from SIUE.

Golfer Danny Gorman Named All-America Scholar

SIUE Golfer Danny GormanSIUE senior golfer Danny Gorman has been recognized for his achievement in the classroom and on the course. He was named to the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

SIUE Student-Athletes Continue to Excel Academically

For 11 straight years, spanning 22 consecutive semesters, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville student-athletes have finished with a departmental grade point average of better than 3.0. They completed the 2017 spring semester with a 3.281 GPA, marking the second-highest semester GPA in school history.

SIUE Spring Enrollment is Second-Highest All-Time

Class of 2020Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s spring enrollment of 13,276 students is the second-largest spring enrollment in the University’s history. Traditional undergraduate enrollment has reached an all-time spring semester high of 11,022 students.
