MBA courses are offered in two formats: a 10-week evening format and a weekend format (usually meeting three weekends over a six-week period). Students may take courses in either or both formats; and matriculation for any term in the school year is possible. Tenured SIUE business faculty teach most MBA courses, regardless of format.
In the 10-week evening format, classes meet once per week (6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) for 10 weeks. The terms begin in late-August, early November, mid-February and late-May. A wide range of electives is available throughout the year. CMIS electives are usually offered on the traditional 15-week schedule.
Weekend format classes meet the first, third and fifth weekends of a six week term. Classes meet Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. for the first two weekends and then Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the final weekend. Students following the weekend format will take only one course every six-week period. Depending on scheduling and holidays, students should be able to complete up to eight courses per year on the weekend format.
