International Applicants

Checklist for Application:

1. Apply for Admission:  Applications can be completed online at http://www.siue.edu/graduate/apply/index.shtml.  

2. Take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT):  Go to www.mba.com to register for the exam and download practice test software.  Applicants who hold a PhD, MD, or the equivalent in a recognized field from an accredited university need not submit a GMAT score.

3. Official Transcript:  Please mail certified official copies of your individual marks sheets and your degree diploma to SIUE Graduate & International Admissions, Box 1047, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1047.  Each credential must bear the school's official seal as well as the original signature of the registrar or principal.  We cannot accept photocopies, and we cannot accept documents certified by any other source than the university where you earned them.

4. Application Fee:  Students applying for admission to SIUE are required to pay an application fee of $30.00 USD.  This fee is non-refundable.  Payment should be made in US dollars by check or money order payable to SIUE.  Payment may also be made online by credit card at www.siue.edu/BURSAR. An additional 2% convenience fee (60¢ USD) applies to web application payments.

5. Submit a Personal History Form (PHF):  The PHF may be found by clicking here.  Instructions for returning the form to the School of Business Student Services Office are located on the PHF. 

6. English verification:  Applicants may sit for either the International English Language Testing Program (IELTS), http://www.ielts.org/candidates/default.aspx, or the Special Center Testing Program of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), http://www.ets.org/toefl.  The official score must be sent directly to SIUE by the testing service. (SIUE’s institutional code is 1759, and the department code is 00.)  The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL paper-based test is 550. The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL computer-based test is 213. The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL Internet-based test is 79.  The minimum acceptable IELTS score is 6.5 overall band.

7. International Student Visa Information Form:  The International Student Visa Information Form is available on the following website:  http://www.siue.edu/apply/admission_criteria_international.shtml .  Print, complete, sign, and mail it to SIUE Graduate & International Admissions, Box 1047, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1047.  Your signature and date on the second page are required.

8. If you are admitted into SIUE, you will also need to complete an International Student Financial Form (ISFF) and Sponsor Bank Statement.  The ISFF is available from this website http://www.siue.edu/apply/admission_criteria_international.shtml.  Print, complete, sign, and mail it along with the required bank statement to SIUE Graduate & International Admissions, Box 1047, Edwardsville, IL 62026-1047.  Both you and your sponsor must sign and date the ISFF.  The bank statement must be on bank letterhead, not older than 90 days, signed and dated by the branch manager, verifying a minimum balance of $23,196.00 USD, for proof of sponsorship to support your education for the 2008-2009 school year.  If you have more than one sponsor, each sponsor must sign separate ISFFs and submit separate bank statements indicating sponsorship support for the total minimum balance of $23,196.00 USD.   For information on tuition and fees, please visit the following website:  http://www.siue.edu/prospectivestudents/tuition_and_fees.shtml
