Student Organizations

The Management and Marketing Department is very proud to be the home of many active student organizations. They are the American Marketing Association (AMA), Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO), Master of Marketing Research Student Association (MMRSA), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The AMA, CEO, and SHRM organizations have ties with national professional organizations. SIUE American Marketing Association (AMA):
The Management and Marketing Department supports the SIUE Student Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA). The mission of the AMA is to expose students to the environment of the marketing and sales professions. Through the AMA, students have an opportunity to make contact with professional working in their field.The chapter activities include hosting guest speakers from the field of marketing, attending the St. Louis Student AMA Conference, visits to local companies and attending the National Student AMA conference.For additional information about the AMA, or to join, please contact:

Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO):
Members of CEO learn about helpful resources for entrepreneurial research, local entrepreneurial successes, the start-up process, opportunities available to young entrepreneurs, networks of young entrepreneurs, opportunities to participate in entrepreneurship competitions, sources for small business assistance, business skills, small business management, and more!

Master of Marketing Research Student Association (MMRSA):
Provides graduate students in the Master of Marketing Research Program the opportunity to participate in the organizing, planning, and directing of an organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the art and science of marketing research. The MMRSA strives to improve MMR students marketability in today's competitive job market via guest speakers and specialized workshops on emerging topics and trends in the marketing research industry. Additionally, the MMRSA provides an informal venue for MMR students to interact socially.

Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM):
The Management Department supports the SIUE Student Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). The vision of SHRM is to be the global voice of the human resource profession. Student members of SHRM have the chance to work with other students interested in human resources issues and to develop leadership skills in the field. Members also have the opportunity to establish professional contacts through the national organization and through the local professional chapter.

The student chapter has received many Merit Awards from the national organization for its high level of student participation. Chapter activities have included hosting guest speakers, visits to local companies, a student mentoring program and participation in campus-wide activities such as Career Day, the Student Leadership Development Program, and Springfest.
