The SIUE School of Business International Program allows SIUE students to take courses at universities in other countries. Students in the program register and pay tuition for credit at SIUE. This approach to study abroad eliminates the transfer credit problem and permits grades earned to be calculated into a student's SIUE grade point average.
The International Program provides SIUE students with the opportunity to live and study in another cultural setting. This helps the student to appreciate what businesses already know: Doing business in a global economy requires knowledge of the international marketplace, an understanding of the traditions of completely different cultures, and the ability to communicate and negotiate with business associates speaking another language.
Students register and pay tuition for about 6 semester hours of credit at SIUE while completing their course requirements at the participating foreign university. No tuition is paid directly to the foreign university. Additional expenses include airfare, passport, lodging, meals, some fees (including books), and miscellaneous living expenses. Estimates of the additional expenses associated with each participating university are available from the School of Business International Program office. Some financial assistance for travel expenses is available from us. Please feel free to contact our staff with any questions.
Enrollment is open to SIUE students in good standing within the university and the student's major field of study. Students should have completed two years of coursework. All summer courses at the Angers Summer Program, the Know Europe Summer Program, and the Budapest Summer Program are taught in English. Please note that the Budapest Summer Program is geared for MBA/Masters degree candidates or upper level business major seniors with consent of the program director.
