Please submit details about your coverage in English or provide a translation with your documents if documents in English cannot be obtained.
Proof of adequate health insurance coverage in the United States must be submitted by July 15, for fall term. It is better if you can send it by June 15.
Proof of adequate health insurance coverage must be submitted December 15, for spring term. It is better for you and for us if you can send it by Nov. 15.
Health insurance documentation must clearly show the dates of coverage. You must be covered from the beginning of orientation until the end of finals for the semester you are here.
Failure to provide this proof will result in cancellation of currently enrolled courses; the student would then be in violation of the J-1 visa requirements.
Students who cannot provide coverage from home will be required to purchase health insurance at SIUE.
