The SIUE Entrepreneurship Center has increased the awareness of the importance of entrepreneurial activity in Southwestern Illinois. We joined with several other organizations last fall to conduct a study on the entrepreneurial climate in Southwest Illinois. The findings showed us that there is great enthusiasm about helping entrepreneurs succeed in our region. Also, we discovered what entrepreneurs truly need to help them succeed. Therefore, we have developed programs and opportunities attractive to entrepreneurs in our region.
Our center covers a large area servicing Madison, St. Clair, Jersey, Bond, Washington, Monroe, Randolph, Calhoun, and Clinton counties. Located on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, the Southwestern Illinois Entrepreneurship Center is part of a statewide effort to build a more vibrant economy and create new job opportunities in Illinois. We serve as a regional hub for coordinating entrepreneurship development activity.
