Biography
Prior to joining the SIUE faculty, Dr. Hester was an instructor and doctoral candidate at University of Colorado Denver in the Department of Information Systems Management where she completed the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Systems (2009). Her dissertation examined factors affecting adoption and usage of knowledge management systems with a focus on wiki technology-based systems.
Dr. Hester continues to have a research focus on wiki technology and collaborative knowledge management. Additional interests include social networking applications and Web 2.0; web development and Enterprise 2.0; and underlying social, technical and organizational factors affecting adoption and diffusion of information systems. Dr. Hester has journal publications in Information Technology and Management, and the International Journal of Social and Organizational Dynamics. Dr. Hester has presented several papers at conferences including the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS), and the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Personnel Research. Dr. Hester is also certified in PLS Path Modeling.
