Why Business Administration - Finance?

The finance specialization prepares students for positions in corporate finance, investments and management of financial institutions. Courses in finance are designed to help students understand the complex world of global finance and business.

Business Administration at SIUE

The business administration degree with a finance specialization will prepare you to be a business professional who understands the financial environment in which businesses operate and analyzes how financial management of the organization impacts business performance. You will learn about the functional areas of modern business, the ethical and global issues confronting business today, and the economic, social, political and legal environments in which business decisions are made. Practice in making decisions using quantitative and analytical skills is complemented with leadership and team-building skills. The curriculum is delivered using a variety of methods including analysis of business cases and other experiential exercises as well as co-curricular activities.

Career Outlook

Graduates of the program are qualified for careers in a variety of administrative and managerial positions in business firms, banking and insurance institutions and federal, state and local government agencies. In this extremely competitive economy, it is more important than ever to strategically analyze the financial environment in which businesses operate. This makes skilled financial professionals critical to companies.
