The business administration degree program provides a basic understanding of the functional areas of business, the behavior of organizations and decisionmaking processes. Students will learn analytical methods for solving basic problems affecting profit and growth.

Students not choosing one of the above specializations will take four additional business electives that are complementary to their interests and career aspirations. The business administration degree will prepare you to be a business professional who understands the environment in which businesses operate and analyzes how business operations are impacted by economic, social, political and legal environments. Students learn about the functional areas of modern business and the ethical and global issues confronting business today. Practice in making decisions using quantitative and analytical skills is complemented with leadership and team-building skills. The curriculum is delivered using a variety of methods including analysis of business cases and other experiential exercises, as well as co-curricular activities.
Graduates of the program are qualified for careers in administration or management of business firms, in banking and insurance, and in federal, state and local government agencies as well as a variety of other settings where the knowledge of business functions is required. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain professional experience through co-operative education, internships and other co-curricular activities prior to graduation.
