General Navigation and Notes

·    Must be logged into CougarNet to access Employment and other information.

·    Help is available at each page.

·    Questions concerning employee information should be directed to HR, 650-2190.

Example Help Text

 

 

·    From the Main Menu, click Employment to access Benefits/Deductions, Pay Information, Taxes and other information.

·    Selecting a link will move you to another menu, summary information, detailed information or a vendor’s website.

·    Return to Menu moves back one menu level.

·    History and Contributions or Deductions pages do not generally have a Return to Menu link.

-    Use link at bottom of page to return to previous page, usually a summary page.

Note: Information displayed begins with the FY08 conversion. Only applicable (participated in since FY08 conversion) benefits and deductions will be displayed.

·    From the Employment menu, click Benefits and Deductions.

·    Benefits and Deductions menu is divided into the following areas:

-    Retirement Plans

-    State Benefits

-    Flexible Spending Accounts

-    Taxes and Other Deductions

-    Benefit/Deduction Summary

Retirement Plans

Reminder: Only retirement plans participated in since FY08 conversion will be displayed.

·    From the Benefits and Deductions menu, click Retirement Plans.

·    Review plans.

·    Click History or Contributions or Deductions for additional information for the selected plan.

-    Click Retirement Plans to return Retirement Plans.

·    Click Vendor Web Site.

-    A new browser window or tab will open.

·    The option of changing or adding a benefit or deduction is not available online.

·    Click Return to Menu to return to Benefits and Deductions menu.

·    From the Benefits and Deductions menu, click State Benefits.

·    Review benefits.

·    Click History or Contributions or Deductions for additional information for the selected benefit.

-    Click State Benefits to return to benefits.

·    Click Vendor Web Site link.

·    The option of changing or adding a benefit or deduction is not available online.

·    From the Benefits and Deductions menu, click Flexible Spending Accounts.

·    Review accounts.

·    Click History or Contributions or Deductions for additional information for the selected account.

-    Click Flexible Spending Accounts to return list of accounts.

·    Click Vendor Web Site.

-    A new browser window or tab will open.

·    The option of changing or adding a benefit or deduction is not available online.

·    Click Return to Menu to return to Benefits and Deductions menu.

·    From the Benefits and Deductions menu, click Taxes and Other Deductions.

·    Review deductions (not State benefits).

·    Click History or Contributions or Deductions for additional information for the selected deduction.

-    Click Miscellaneous to return Taxes and Other Deductions.

·    Click Vendor Web Site.

-    A new browser window or tab will open.

·    The option of changing or adding a benefit or deduction is not available online.

·    Click Return to Menu to return to Benefits and Deductions menu.

·    From the Pay Information menu, click Direct Deposit Allocation.

·    Review current pay distribution.

-    To make changes, open internet browser and navigate to http://www.siue.edu/humanresources/payroll/index.shtml.

-    Click on Direct Deposit link to open form.

-    Complete as directed.

·    Click Return to Menu to return to Pay Information menu.

·    Earnings History Criteria opens.

-    Select From and To Dates and click .

·    From the Tax Forms menu, click Direct W4 Tax Exemptions or Allowances.

·    Review Federal withholding detail.

·    If History or Contributions or Deductions is selected:

-    Miscellaneous will take you to Taxes & Other Deductions which is from Benefits and Deductions menu.

-    To return to the Tax Forms menu, use the browser back button to go to W4 Tax Exemptions.

·    Click Return to Menu to return to Tax Forms menu.

Note: To view and print W- 2 online must consent to receive W-2 electronically.

·    From the Tax Forms menu, click Electronic Consent.

·    Review consent form.

·    Check box to give consent or uncheck to revoke consent and click .

·    Click Return to Tax Menu to return to Tax Forms menu.

Note: Must give electronic consent prior to viewing or printing. Information displayed begins with the FY08 conversion.

·    From the Tax Forms menu, click W-2 Wage and Tax Statement.

·    Select Tax Year and Employer and click .

·    Click Help to view information on printing guidelines for various browsers and other information.

-    Exit Help.

·    Make changes to page setup as noted in Help.

·    Click .

·    Click Return to Tax Menu to return to Tax Forms menu.

Note: Must give electronic consent prior to viewing or printing. Information displayed begins with the FY08 conversion.

·    From the Tax Forms menu, click W-2c Corrected Wage and Tax Statement.

·    If no corrected W-2 available, click Return to Tax Menu.

·    If corrected W-2 proceed as with W-2 Wage and Tax Statement.

-    Select Tax Year and Employer and click .

-    Click Help to view information on printing guidelines for various browsers and other information.

o  Exit Help.

-    Make changes to page setup as noted in Help.

-    Click .

-    Click Return to Tax Menu to return to Tax Forms menu.

-    Click Title link to view detail.

·    From the Employment menu, click Campus Directory.

·    Campus Directory opens with 3 search options available.

-    Employee name search

-    Directory listing by last name

NOTE: A personal email address will be displayed if it is recorded in Banner. To remove a personal email address, contact HR, 650-2190. The personal email address will not be displayed in the printed SIUE Directory or the online person search available from the SIUE home page.

 

Search by Name

·    Last Name – Key in employee’s last name.

·    First Name – Key in employee’s first name.

·    Employee Search is not case-sensitive.

·    Use ‘%’ if only partial name is entered.

·    Click .

·    Employee Search Results opens.

-    Click New Employee Search to return to Campus Directory.

-    Click Return to Menu to return to the Employment Menu.
