
In order to facilitate continuous improvement through the use of the Senior Assignment, SIUE established a funding structure in 1994. The Senior Assignment Fund, administered through the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (or Office of Assessment), serves as an indicator of the University's serious commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. Funds are available to departments and programs to support efforts in the Senior Assignment. Funding is aimed at enhancing existing Senior Assignments and promoting scholarship.
Departments apply for funding through the Office of Assessment using the specified fund proposal format. Funding selection is made by the Committee on Assessment. Departments receiving funding are required to write an assessment report, due by noon on the last Monday in June. The purpose of the report is to document improvements made to the Senior Assignment.
