This page provides information on Qwizdom's ActionPoint software as well as details about the Qwizdom Q4 participant devices and Q5 instructor/presenter devices. Handouts and informational PowerPoint slides designed for instructor's class lecture presentations are also included. Additional information on clickers is available from this issue of the Tech Knowledge "e" Newsletter.
Qwizdom's ActionPoint software must be utilized for the participant clicker devices to communicate with the instructor's presentation. ActionPoint is used to create interactive slides, view response graphs, and configure the session parameters. The software integrates seamlessly with PowerPoint; details of ActionPoint toolbar are discussed in the Handouts and Manuals section below. Additional information on the software is available from Qwizdom's site.
ActionPoint is compatible only with Windows operating systems. If you are using a Macintosh computer, you will need to inquire about the MactionPoint software.
The ActionPoint suite has been installed in most of the computer classrooms supported by ITS. Each school/college has also been supplied 2 copies of the software by the Office of Assessment. We strongly encourage you to test the ActionPoint software and RF unit with the clickers in the computer classroom or lab prior to your presentation to make sure that the software and hardware are functioning correctly and no drivers need to be installed.
Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 or higher is required to use ActionPoint to add interactivity to PowerPoint slides and Microsoft Excel 2003 or higher is needed to generate ActionPoint participation reports.

Additional information on these devices is available by clicking on the appropriate tabs on Qwizdom's hardware page.
USB drivers that enable the RF (Host) unit to communicate with the clickers have been installed in most computer classrooms supported by ITS where the clickers will be used. However, if you receive notification that these drivers are not loaded, you will need to have the authorized administrator for that department, building, or classroom install the drivers.
USB drivers for the RF (Host) unit can be downloaded from Qwizdom's site. 64 bit USB drivers are also available.

If you are unable to use the ActionPoint software to create interactive slides, you can use the templates in the file below to add interactive slides to your PowerPoint presentation. There is a slide for each of the question types in ActionPoint; these slides do not have correct or incorrect answers attached to them and no time limit or point value has been assigned.
Download the template file to your computer, copy the appropriate slide, insert it into your PowerPoint presentation, and then modify the text on the slide to fit with your lecture or presentation. When you get to a computer with ActionPoint loaded on it, you can, if desired, specify correct or incorrect answers, set time limits, or apply point values (time limits and point values can also be set during the presentation setup process detailed in the Handouts section above).
The following slides have been developed to give students a brief overview of the Q4 devices. Place the appropriate slide at the beginning of your PowerPoint presentation.
