Dr. E. Duff Wrobbel is conducting an assessment of SIUE's New Freshman Seminar courses. He plans to utilize focus groups in 16 different NFS courses at the end of the Fall 2007 semester, and then analyze transcripts of the sessions. He will focus on how well the University's NFS classes are achieving the three main goals of the program, which are to:
1) assist new freshmen in making the transition to college-level work and expectations
2) orient new freshmen to the services and culture of the University
3) engage students in an intellectual community of students and faculty
