The Office of Assessment is housed in the Provost Suite, third floor, Rendleman Hall, and is comprised of director, an office support associate, a graduate assistant, and a student worker.

Professor Scott became the Director of Assessment in July 2007. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at SIUE since 2001. Dr. Scott received the Teaching Excellence Award from SIUE in 2006 and the 2006 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. Additionally, she was the guest speaker at SIUE's Freshman Convocation in 2006 and was a 2003 State Farm Faculty Fellow in Service Learning.
Dr. Scott received her bachelor's degree in elementary education and special education from Drury University, and went on to earn a master's degree in special education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a doctorate in special education from the University of Kansas. She also served a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Prior to her appointment at SIUE, Professor Scott was chair of the Department of Special Education and coordinator of elementary-level special education programs for the Associated Colleges of Central Kansas. She has established field-based courses in assessment and methods, served as project director on several state and federal grants, and conducted numerous in-service sessions. Dr. Scott was chosen by her peers as the Kansas Council for Exceptional Children Outstanding Special Education Teacher of the Year for 1998, and was also awarded the Council for Exceptional Children Federation Award in 1999. She has conducted research in the areas of phonemic awareness, reading instruction, assistive technology, and assessment. Additionally, she has seven years of teaching experience in public schools.

Cindy Parker joined the Office of Assessment in January 2009. She retired from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 2005 as an administrative assistant / web designer. Retirement didn't agree with her, so she chose to re-enter the workforce and continue her education.
Ms. Parker is enrolled in the master's program in Instructional Technology at SIUE. She obtained a bachelor of science degree in Psychology from SIUE in 1994, with a double minor in Special Education for 1) Emotionally Disturbed and 2) Gifted.

Kendra Fark joined the Office of Assessment in Fall 2008. She primarily works with students in the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Program, but her duties extend to Assessment- and Senior Assignment-related activities as well.
She is enrolled in the master’s program in speech-language pathology at SIUE. Ms. Fark obtained a bachelor of science degree in speech-language pathology and audiology from SIUE in May 2008, and a bachelor of arts in chemistry and biology from Greenville College in Greenville, IL in May 2007.
After completing her master's degree, Ms. Fark plans to work as a speech-language pathologist in a medical setting.
