Stacey Howard joined the Speech Communication Department as a Public Relations Instructor in 2009. Stacey received her B.S. in Speech Communication from SIUE in 2005 and her M.A. in Speech Communication from SIUE in 2009. Prior to joining the SIUE faculty, she was the assistant director of the Highland Chamber of Commerce, and also worked as the special events liaison for Hospice of Southern Illinois. She also served six years in the U.S. Army.
Stacey's teaching and professional focus is in the field of public relations. She reads print and online publications and attends workshops and webinars relevant to the industry in order to bring germane case studies and information into the classroom. She believes her role as an instructor also calls her to be a mentor to her students, and she strives to be her best in both capacities. She serves as the faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America on campus and is a member of the St. Louis PRSA chapter.
Stacey is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two daughters. They also have one adorable grandson! Stacey enjoys serving as the monthly fellowship coordinator at her church, spending time with her family and friends, playing games, camping, bike riding, reading, and baking - especially homemade sugar cookies!
