The Subfields of Political Science


All majors and minors must take POLS111 Introduction to Political Science and POLS112 American National Government and Politics.  These are prerequisites for most all other Political Science courses.

Additionally, majors are required to take 27 hours, with at least one three-hour course at the 300/400 level in four of the seven subfields below.  No more than 15 hours may be taken in any one subfield.  Minors must take 18 hours, with at least one three-hour course at the 300/400 level in three of the seven subfields.  (A course cannot count more than once.)
