WHY STUDY RELIGION?

Whether or not one is personally inclined toward religion, Religious Studies can illuminate issues in a range of areas such as:

• Art and music

• World and U.S. cultures

• History

• Politics

• Sociology

• Philosophy

• Psychology

• Ethics

• Healthcare and counseling

Knowledge and methods from a variety of disciplines provide many approaches to understanding religion, which is a major force in the history and future of the world.

The Religious Studies Minor is especially a good compliment to students majoring in Anthropology, English and Comparative Literature, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
