TRANSFER STUDENTS Transfer students should contact the department for a review of credentials and placement at least 30 days before the beginning of the term for which entry is desired. Transfer Credit Equivalency Guides are located at siue.edu/transfer.

* For a transfer student to declare a major or minor in the Music Department at SIUE, the student must pass a successful entrance audition by the appropriate area auditioning committee, including the director of the area’s large ensemble. The student will then be placed at the appropriate level of applied lessons.

Before any transfer credits are accepted, the student must test for proficiency in the following areas: Piano, Theory, and History. If the student does not successfully pass, the Music Department will decline the credit towards the major. However, these credits can transfer in as elective credits towards graduation.
