Second Wind St. Louis Lung Transplant Association
On Saturday, September 10, 2011 Stephanie Hunt, Mari Juntunen,Erika
Lord-Castillo,and Susanna Woodard performed in a quartet as back up for singer
Matt Alber. The event was a benefit concert for Second Wind St. Louis Lung
Transplant Association at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown St. Louis. Second
Wind's mission is to help support people who have had lung transplants and
people who are waiting for lung transplants. The association helps in any way
they can-- through education, support, advocacy, information, and guidance.
The performers were treated to a wonderful dinner in a downtown loft by Bethany
Sprague and her husband Stan Fine. Bethany is a lung transplant survivor
herself and is active in the Second Wind Lung Transplant Association. Several
others joined the dinner event; people who were waiting for transplants but who
could not attend the concert because of the risk of being in large crowds and
their low level of immunity to disease. Their stories were inspiring and the
benefit concert was a success. It was nice evening, playing music and supporting such a good cause!
