A beginning level string orchestra which emphasizes music reading skills and refinement of ensemble playing technique. ESE complements students’ school and/ or private lessons and helps them prepare for participation in Edwardsville Youth Orchestra.
Violin, viola, cello and bass students who have had at least one year of instruction. Age 7 and up.
Ability to recognize note names and rudimentary rhythms
Auditions are NOT required for this group
Saturdays from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Founder’s Hall
A complete schedule of rehearsals will be handed out at the first meeting.
12 rehearsals per semester.
• 2 concerts per year. One in December and one in April
Cost: $180 per year for students NOT enrolled in the SIUE String Program
$20 non-refundable registration fee
