Dr. Shelly Monier is Adjunct Professor of Music at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she teaches Applied Flute, Introduction to Music History, and conducts the Flute Choir. Dr. Monier is also an Adjunct Professor at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley and teaches and performs in the St. Louis area. She is the president of the Flute Society of Saint Louis and performs with the St. Louis Wind Symphony.
Dr. Monier received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her Master’s degree in Flute Performance from Illinois State University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Her teachers include John Bailey, Kimberly McCoul Risinger, Mark Sparks, and Paul Thompson.
